British Eurosport launches new TV player application
Fans in the UK can now watch LIVE coverage of the 2010 FIA
Formula Two Championship on the iPhone with a new app launched by
British Eurosport, showing live coverage on both channels.
Sports fans with iPhone and iPod touch handsets will be able to
watch British Eurosport's live broadcasts throughout the 2010
season. The two British Eurosport channels are accessible by
downloading the new Eurosport Player application free. Users
will pay £2.39 per month or £23.99 per year
subscription to access content from both TV channels. The Eurosport
Player app can be downloaded from the App store or via iTunes.
The app will initially be available to iPhone users in the
United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland only, with other geographic
roll-outs under development. The app will enable users to access
the live action via 3G and Wi-Fi, increasing the opportunities to
access the channel's content via mobile devices.
The FIA Formula Two Championship is already set to enjoy
expanded live TV coverage during the 2010 season as every race is
scheduled to be broadcast live by Eurosport, with eight of the nine
events being screened in high definition.
Eurosport Group Chairman Laurent-Eric Le Lay said: "Sport is the
perfect genre to enjoy through this exciting functionality,
enabling fans to watch their favourite sporting events wherever
they are, ensuring they never miss a second of the action. This new
app launch will further reinforce Eurosport's presence in the
online community, making the best sport entertainment more
accessible than ever."
