Andy Soucek enjoys first Formula One run
Spaniard tops provisional timesheets after first session in Williams F1 car
Andy Soucek has had his first taste of the Williams F1 car today
(Tuesday 1 December) at Jerez, the Spaniard impressing by setting
the fastest time so far after the opening two sessions.
Soucek, 24, completed a shakedown lap to open the day, allowing
the team to monitor the car's behaviour and adjust the set up
accordingly. He then enjoyed an extended run in the car, coming in
for a short discussion before heading back out again to top the
provisional timesheets for the first time.
"I had forgotten just how fast these cars are," he enthused
after his opening run. "The acceleration through every gear is
incredible - it's a great sensation!"
Soucek will test for Williams for the first of the three
day young drivers test in Jerez, with the official Formula Two
website bringing you updates throughout the day.
