Markus Pommer is hoping home advantage during the next rounds at the Nűrburgring (26/27 May) will help him secure his maiden FIA Formula Two victory.
The 21-year-old German has endured a mixed start to his debut F2 season with a difficult weekend during the opening rounds at Silverstone last month followed by a strong outing at Portimão to record his first F2 podium with third in race two.
After four races, the series now travels to Pommer's home rounds at the Nűrburgring in Germany where he's hoping to make a big impression: "I'm looking forward to it a lot! I've raced there many times and recorded my first win there in Formula ATS Masters. I like it very much and I hope I can win.
"My weekend in Portimão made up for what happened at Silverstone where my pace was good but I crashed in the first qualifying on the second lap and in the second qualifying I just wasn't pushing enough. Now my confidence is back I can push for the next race."
Pommer and the rest of the F2 field take part in rounds three and four of the series on 25-27 May in Germany for rounds five and six with full coverage, including live streaming, on the F2 website.
