Markus Pommer secured his third Formula Two win of the season
with a commanding lights-to-flag victory during round 14 at the
Hungaroring. Starting from pole the German pulled out a sizeable
lead of 16s to finish ahead of Mathéo Tuscher and Brit Dino
Zamparelli. Read what the top three ahd to say after the champagne
had been sprayed….
Markus Pommer
"That was an amazing race! The start wasn't perfect but it was ok
and after two or three laps the car just felt amazing and so
stable. After that I just drove like a machine and didn't look in
my mirrors or at my lap times and just kept pushing. It certainly
makes up for what happened yesterday."
Matheo Tuscher
"Yesterday wasn't the best day of my season and one I'd like to
forget but today I had a great start and tried to keep with Markus
for the first few laps but all weekend I've had a problem with too
much understeer. We found a good base set-up in today's qualifying
but I spun on the last corner just before I finished my lap so I'm
a bit disappointed with that. We'll just try now to push Luciano
for the championship as much as we can but it's going to be
hard."
Dino Zamparelli
"Yeah it's amazing to be back on the podium and that was a
fantastic race for me. I feel like I'm finally getting on top of
the car but this weekend I've not been able to show my true
potential with an issue in Friday's practice and a little mistake
in Saturday's qualifying but the car has felt good and overall this
was a good way to finish the weekend off."
