Kevin Mirocha set the fastest time during today's (Thursday) third Formula Two test session at the Hungaroring, with the Polish racer putting in a superb late lap to finish ahead of Mathéo Tuscher and Mihai Marinescu.
Temperatures climbed steadily as the penultimate 60-minute stint got underway with Slovakian Richard Gonda once again the quickest man on track followed by Luciano Bacheta and Axcil Jefferies, with only nine cars venturing out in the opening quarter.
By the halfway mark the rest of the field were out in force with Tuscher showing real pace to lead from Gonda with Markus Pommer and Bacheta in pursuit. After his heavy crash in session two, Plamen Kralev took his first tentative steps back onto the 4.381km track with just over 10-minutes left on the clock.
That was more than enough time though for 20-year-old Mirocha to show his hand, shaving almost half a second off Tuscher's previous best with Marinescu now up into third closely followed by Alex Fontana. Gonda held onto fifth with Pommer in sixth ahead of championship leader Bacheta and fellow Brit Dino Zamparelli.
Jefferies finished 10th ahead of Hector Hurst with today's final session getting underway at 16:30 (local time) with full coverage and live timing available on the F2 website.
