After six thrilling rounds there's just two remaining for the
Formula Two drivers with the next stop being the championship's
maiden visit to the Hungaroring in Budapest.
Before then, the drivers have plenty of time to prepare themselves
thanks to the extended summer break with rounds 13 and 14 taking
place on 7-9 September. The event, which begins with official
testing beforehand, is set to deliver fantastic action as the race
to become the 2012 champion and secure the prize Williams F1 test,
draws to a close.
Runaway championship leader Luciano Bacheta remains favourite and
could mathematically walk away with the honours in Hungary but it
certainly won't be easy for the Brit, especially given Mathéo
Tuscher's recent run of form which saw him become the youngest ever
F2 winner last time out at Paul Ricard. Indeed, the 15-year-old
Swiss has continually closed the gap to Bacheta and will be eager
to pick up another strong points haul and push the title race into
an enthralling season finale at Monza.
Christopher Zanella and Markus Pommer, the only F2 drivers to have
scored points in every race, still theoretically remain in the hunt
as does Mihai Marinescu but all will depend on how things pan out
at the tight, twisty and technical 4.381km circuit.
The event takes place from 7 to 9 September and begins with
official F2 testing on 6 September. Full coverage, including live
streaming of both races, will be available on the F2 website.
