F2 fans can now see what happened when GP Update journalist Ivo
Pakvis was invited to Formula Two's headquarters to test drive the
current Williams designed JPH1B F2 car.
The leading motorsport title was given unprecedented access to
experience the full force of the 500bhp machine during a private
test session held at its purpose-built facility at Bedford
Autodrome.
"This was the first time ever that a complete novice, without any form of racing experience, had stepped into an F2 machine," said Dutch journalist Pakvis. "Formula 2 was more than happy to help us put this together and duly pulled out all the stops. GP Update logos were placed on the car as was my name! And, just for us, Bedford Autodrome was closed off for the day."
He added: "This was a real day of testing, allowing GP Update to
do all the filming and driving we liked. I was also helped by my
very own F2 mechanics and instructors while watching from the
sidelines was F2 championship leader Luciano Bacheta!"
Meanwhile, the next F2 rounds take place at the Hungaroring on 7-9
September with full coverage, including live streaming, on the F2
website.
