2010 Williams F1 car makes debut run
F2 prize machine breaks cover in Valencia
The AT&T Williams Formula One Team gave its 2010 F1
challenger its first public appearance today (Monday), when the
FW32 was driven by Rubens Barrichello in Valencia.
With the Formula Two champion being awarded a full test drive
with the Williams F1 Team at the end of the year, many young
hopefuls will be keeping a close eye on the Grove outfit throughout
the coming season.
"The FW32 is a clean-sheet design from front to back," said Sam
Michael, the Williams Technical Director. "It's pretty much brand
new from an aerodynamic point of view."
Williams has been a partner of Formula Two since the
championship returned in 2009. A team led by Director of
Engineering Patrick Head designed the F2 car and has recently
introduced significant upgrades to the 2010 Williams JPH1B F2 car.
Inaugural FIA Formula Two Champion Andy Soucek topped the times
when testing with the team in Jerez back in December, and a new
grid of young hopefuls will be competing to scoop this incredible
prize in 2010.
Information on the Williams JPH1B Formula Two car test and
development programme, including images of the upgraded machine,
will be published on the official F2 website on Thursday (4
February).
