How sophisticated is the F2 car?

The Williams JPH1B car is an incredibly sophisticated car designed by the Williams Formula One team, specifically for Formula Two.

Since its launch in 2009, the F2 car has undergone a series of significant performance gains and upgrade packages, with the current car now lapping around two seconds a lap quicker.

All drivers are provided with an identical Williams designed F2 car which they keep for the season. The equal environment of the series centres around this concept with all cars being run and operated by a central base at Bedford Autodrome in the UK.

The current machine features a 1.8 litre turbocharged Audi engine producing 425bhp, increasing to 500bhp when a driver applies the overboost facility.

Every part of the F2 car has been carefully designed and to learn out more about each area simply click here for a full technical breakdown of the 2012 F2 car.
