Sebastian Hohenthal started life in Formula Two as one of the
pre-season favourites, joining the series on the back of two
successful years in the British F3 Championship.
The Swede impressed with strong performances at Brands Hatch and
Donington Park, building on a solid start to the season which saw
him finish inside the top ten in the opening race of the year at
Valencia. He qualified an outstanding third for both races at
Brands Hatch - only missing out on pole for the opening race by
0.017 seconds - with performances that he knew he was capable of.
Two post-session penalties dropped him down the grid, however, and
he was unable to convert such good qualifying positions into top
eight finishes.
Seb made up for the disappointment at Donington Park, where he
scored his maiden points of the season by finishing sixth in race
one, having lined up eighth on the grid. The best was yet to come,
though, as he qualified on the front row for the first time for
race two, before eventually finishing fifth - his best performance
of the season. He was unfortunate not to add further to his tally
in Oschersleben or Imola, finishing ninth and just out of the
points in both events. Sebastian was undoubtedly quick, though more
smoothness will surely improve his results further in future.
Whatever results he had, Seb always impressed deeply for being
super-professional with his sponsors.
