Jason Moore joined the 2009 Formula Two line up as one of only
three current champions, having taken six wins and 14 podiums in a
superb season in Formula Palmer Audi.
The Briton made a steady start to his F2 career, improving in each
of the first four races to finish 11th in Brno. Jason made a big
step forward at Brands Hatch where he qualified 11th for race two
before taking his maiden points with an eighth-place finish. From
then on he was consistently mid-field competitive, challenging for
the top ten again at Donington Park and qualifying in a superb
season-best tenth at Oschersleben despite a fractured hand, with
which he bravely raced both there and in Italy.
Jason's best weekend was indeed Imola, where despite missing the
first practice whilst his hand was examined at the local hospital,
he went on to finish seventh in race two after storming through the
field from 18th on the grid. He also showed strongly in the final
round at Barcelona, setting the fastest lap in race one, although
he was not able to fight for the points his pace warranted after
being the victim of others' errors. Jason will however have been
encouraged by the strong form he displayed towards the close of the
season.
