Germán Sánchez joined Formula Two after a highly
impressive campaign saw him clinch the 2008 Spanish Formula 3 title
with four wins and five podiums.
The Spaniard, whose racing hero is Ayrton Senna, challenged for the
top ten on several occasions at the start of the season, before
late improvements saw him regularly challenge for points in the
final few races. He began the season in solid style, finishing 11th
in the second race in his favourite city of Valencia, before
claiming 12th in the opening race in Spa-Francorchamps.
He ran well again at Donington Park, qualifying 15th and 13th for
the two races, improving to finish 12th and 11th respectively,
before enjoying the most successful weekend of his season in Imola.
The Spaniard qualified eighth for the opening race - his best
result - and went on to claim the same spot in both races, his
first two points scores of the year.
