British driver Hector Hurst makes his FIA Formula Two
Championship debut in 2012, after a successful debut season in
Formula Renault and a promising performance during F2 winter
testing.
He began racing in karts at the age of 13 quickly showcasing his
talents in the BRDC Stars of Tomorrow Championship as well as the
MSA Kartmasters Grand Prix.
2010 saw Hector take a step back from his racing to concentrate on
his school work before making his single seater debut in the highly
competitive Formula Renault BARC series with Scorpio
Motorsport.
Despite his lack of experience he quickly impressed scoring a top
five result on his very first appearance before being a regular top
10 finisher, ending the season 13th overall.
Last year he joined F2 for its annual winter test programme in
Barcelona where he again looked confident behind the wheel, running
third fastest in session three on day two after finishing 11th
quickest overall on day one.
Hector is based in Lymington, Hampshire and is driver coached by
former Formula Renault BARC Champion Kieren Clark.
