Curva 1
Not for the faint-hearted, Curva 1 is a sharp left-hander at the end of the long start/finish straight, and drivers will look to gain time by using all of the circuit both on entry and exit. Carry too much speed, however, and drivers risk being caught in the gravel trap along the right-hand side of the exit.
Curva 2
Curva 2 is a slow and tight left-hander with an uphill approach, and is a fantastic overtaking opportunity for drivers able to carry speed through Curva 1 and up the hill. Drivers will be looking to get on the power early and make the most of the large run-off area on the right in order to get a good run down to the first of the circuit’s two infield sections.
Curva 5
Curva 5 is a dangerous double-apex right hander with no run-off on the outside. Drivers will need to turn in early and use all the kerbing in order to get the power down early, but have to contend with the risk of running wide and ruining their momentum up the hill into Curva 6.
Curva 8
Leading into one of the most intricate parts of the circuit, Curva 8 is all about balance: drivers will need to brake early and keep wide in order to give themselves the best line through 9 and into 10, but too much caution and they will leave themselves open to attack on the left-hand side.
Curva 12
After a short straight drivers will approach the uphill Curva 12, and will be looking to carry speed through the corner and out onto the long left of Curva 13. Drivers will be looking to keep a tight apex to launch themselves out of the corner, but clipping too much of the kerb will launch the car wide and kill momentum.
Curva 14
Curva 14 is one of the trickiest and most important corners on the circuit. A fast exit is crucial leading onto the main straight, so drivers will have to avoid the grass on the outside whilst taking as wide a line as possible in order to get the best apex through the left hander.

Circuit Information

The 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship commenced at Spain's Circuit de Valencia in May, partnering the World Touring Cars.

The multi-award winning circuit, also known as the Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit, was opened in September 1999 and hosts rounds of the MotoGP and World Superbike championships in addition to the FIA WTCC. Many Formula One teams also use the circuit for pre-season testing over the winter months due to its mild temperatures.

The venue was designed to feel like a stadium, with views of the entire racetrack from any vantage point.

The circuit is named after Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer Ricardo Tormo.
