La Source
Drivers will need to be hard on the brakes coming in to the tight hairpin at La Source. The track runs very wide on the exit, so a variety of lines can be employed to get as good a run as possible down to Eau Rouge.
Eau Rouge/Radillon
A real challenge, the famous Eau Rouge/Raidillon combination pitches drivers into a downhill lift hander before a sudden right where the apex is hidden by the crest of the hill. Getting it wrong here will cost drivers time all the way up the Kemmel straight and into Les Combes.
Les Combes
The left-hand bend of Les Combes is preceded by a slight right that can be taken almost flat, but drivers must be extremely precise on the brakes to keep the car settled and hold a tight line in order to get a good run into the following right-hander.
Pouhon
Pouhon is a high speed right-hander with a tricky double apex. The key is to keep as straight a line as possible through the first bend, running wide to the right in order to exit the corner well and get a good line going into the right-hand bend of Fagnes.
Blanchimont
A fearsome high speed left-hander, Blanchimont is a real test of a driver’s courage and skill. It is necessary to attack the sweeping bend, but a short run off on the outside means even narrowly missing the apex can send drivers into a high speed accident with the barriers.
Chicane
Re-profiled for the Formula One event in 2008, the revised chicane - formerly known as the Bus Stop - now offers one of the best overtaking opportunities on the circuit.

Circuit Information

The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is the home of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix and is widely regarded as one of the best motor racing circuits in the world.

Over the years, the Spa course has been modified several times. The biggest change saw the circuit being shortened from 14 km (8.7 miles) to 7 km (4.35 miles) in 1979. There have been further updates in recent years and the new layout still is a fast and hilly route through the Ardennes where speeds in excess of 330 km/h (205 mph) can be reached.

Spa remains well known for its unpredictable weather and close racing. The most famous part of the circuit remains the daunting Eau Rouge / Raidillon combination.

F2 will join the International GT Open series in headlining the Spa Euro Race event in June 2009.
