Redgate
A poor run out of Redgate can spoil the first half of the lap, so it is critical for drivers to be gentle on the throttle for the early part of the corner before taking a late apex and powering on up to Hollywood.
Craner Curves
Craner is a sweeping right-left downhill bend, and is an easy place to lose time by clipping the apex too early. The key is to keep it tight through the right, almost hugging the kerb, in order to get a good line through the left and up to the Old Hairpin.
McLeans
Drivers often keep it tight through Schwantz in order to stay left for McLeans, so the corner is a great opportunity for bold and aggressive overtaking. Plenty of run-off means you can carry a lot of speed through the corner, but the rumble strips can be treacherous in the wet.
Coppice
With a blind approach, confidence pays in Coppice and drivers need to be familiar with the corner to get it right. The best approach is to take an early apex before letting the car run wide and easing on the power for a good run down Starkeys Straight.
Fogarty Esses
Fogarty comes at the fastest part of the track, so it’s crucial to be hard on the brakes without unsettling the car upon entry. Using the kerbs can help keep the car tight, but they can be treacherous if the drivers use too much.
Melbourne Loop
The slowest part of the circuit, the Melbourne Hairpin is a fantastic overtaking opportunity for those good on the brakes. A standard hairpin, the apex is in the middle and a good exit is crucial on the run to Goddards, another great place for overtaking.

Circuit Information

The second British round of the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship took place at Donington Park, which recently announced it will host a Formula One Grand Prix from 2010 onwards.

Donington features rounds of the MotoGP and World Superbike championships in addition to the Download music festival, which has taken place every year since 2003.

F2 was the headline event in August and was be supported by the HSCC Historic F2 Championship, which features cars that competed in Formula Two during the 1960s and 1970s.
