Paddock Hill Bend
One of the most iconic corners in the motorsport world, Paddock features an uphill approach that suddenly gives way to a sweeping downhill right. Drivers need to attack the corner, choosing their apex early before powering on down the hill.
Druids
A good run through Paddock provides great overtaking opportunities at Druids, and with a steep uphill approach braking as late as possible is crucial to avoid losing momentum. Drivers also need to keep their exit tidy in order to move back over to the right in preparation for the Graham Hill bend.
Surtees
Another undulating bend, Surtees is one of the most important corners on the Grand Prix circuit as it leads onto the long back straight. The key is to turn in late and avoid getting the power on to early, which can force you wide and kill your drive down to Hawthorne.
Hawthorn Bend
Hawthorn is one of the fastest corners at Brands. Drivers need to be late on the brakes going into the corner, and use as much run-off on the outside as possible. Once again a late apex is crucial to getting a good drive out of the corner
Sheene Curve
Drivers will need to be gentle in their inputs through Sheene, as it is easy to lose time through oversteer. The best line is to stay just off the kerb on the inside, allowing the car to drift halfway before moving back to the right in preparation for Stirlings.
Clearways
The final section of Brands, Clearways has a fast approach before the corner tightens up and drivers have to go down through the gears. The key is to use all the exit to get the best drive out of Clearways, through Clark and all the way down the home straight.

Circuit Information

The world-famous Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit hosts the fourth round of the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship.

Ever since starting out as a dirt track motorcycle circuit in 1926, Brands Hatch has been known for its natural amphitheatre, with virtually the entire 'Indy' configuration visible from the spectator banking and grandstands.

Ayrton Senna won his first ever car race at the Kent circuit, and Nigel Mansell claimed his first Formula One victory there in 1985. The Briton also won the final Grand Prix to be held at the circuit during the following year.

Through the 80s and 90s, the circuit changed ownership several times, before being bought by the MotorSport Vision group in 2004, headed by ex-F1 driver Jonathan Palmer. F2 will partner with the FIA World Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch in July.
