Russia's Max Snegirev joins Formula Two after completing all
four days of winter testing at the end of 2010. He was a regular
fixture in the top 10 throughout, and was particularly
impressive in Portimão where he finished fourth fastest
in one session.
Prior to his F2 testing bow, Snegirev spent 2010 competing in
the British Formula 3 series with Fortec Motorsport. At the end of
the year he contested the final two rounds of Formula Palmer Audi,
where he enjoyed great success by taking one win and three podiums
from the seven races.
Max's single seater career stretches back to 2007, when he made
his debut in Formula Palmer Audi. Two full seasons followed, with
Max demonstrating marked and consistent progress throughout,
finishing every race and taking a best finish of sixth at Donington
Park.
2008 prompted a move into the British F3 National Class, where
Max finished fourth overall despite missing two rounds at
Hockenheim and Spa-Francorchamps. He dovetailed the season with
selected races in Formula Renault UK.
Max becomes the fourth Russian to compete in the new era of
Formula Two, following Mikhail Aleshin, Sergey Afanasiev - who
finished third in the standings in 2009 and 2010 respectively - and
Ivan Samarin.
