Armaan Ebrahim returns to F2 in 2011 after an accomplished
second season in Formula Two last year. The Indian driver confirmed
his reputation as his country's brightest young talent by scoring
points consistently throughout the season and taking a well
deserved maiden F2 podium in the final event at Valencia.
Having impressed in his inaugural season in 2009, where he
developed a reputation for his aggressive overtaking, Armaan set a
goal of competing at the sharp end of the field in 2010 and he
delivered from the outset by claiming points finishes in all of the
first four races - a run which included a brace of sixth place
finishes on the streets of Marrakech. Consecutive fifth place
finishes followed at Monza and Zolder, where he also recorded one
of his best qualifying results of the year to start from
fourth.
Armaan finishes inside the top 10 again at Brands Hatch and
the Algarve, before his season culminated in an outstanding
performance in Valencia. He qualified third for both races - his
best performances of the year - before maintaining position in race
one to clinch a maiden F2 podium to the delight of father Akbar and
his dedicated followers in India. His strong finish helped Armaan
seal 10th in the overall standings.
Prior to joining Formula Two, Armaan made history as the
youngest ever driver to represent his nation in the A1GP World Cup
of Motorsport. He has also enjoyed success in a host of single
seater championships and is a race winner in Formula BMW Asia and
Formula V6 Asia.
