Dutchman Kelvin Snoeks joins F2 after a season competing in the
2009 International Formula Master championship.
The 22-year-old made steady progress throughout the year, which
resulted in three top ten finishes in the final four races of the
season. He finished sixth in the rookie cup and took a best result
of eighth overall in Imola.
Prior to his IFM campaign, Snoeks spent two seasons in the
competitive Formula Renault 2.0 North European Championship. Kelvin
built upon a solid maiden year in 2007 by taking tenth overall
during the following season. Seventh place finishes at Assen,
Oschersleben and Zandvoort were the highlight of Kelvin's 2008
assault as he performed particularly well on home soil. His result
in Oschersleben should also serve him well as it is a circuit that
Formula Two will again visit in 2010.
Kelvin has already experienced F2 machinery having taken part in
winter testing in Portugal at the end of the 2009 season, and he
will now contest the full 2010 campaign.
Like many drivers Kelvin's love for the sport began in karting -
this still remains one of his main passions today as he likes to
get back to his karting roots whenever he can. Away from racing
Snoeks is also a keen snowboarder!
