Set in parkland north of Milan, Monza is one of the most
historic motor racing circuits in the world.
Constructed in 1922, the circuit hosted its first Italian Grand
Prix later that year and has gone on to become a regular on the
Formula One Championship calendar. Since it was launched the
circuit has changed very little in the following 88 years leading
to corners such as the Parabolica earning cult status amongst
racing fans.
2010 marks the first year that the FIA Formula Two Championship
will have visited the circuit and it is set to be the fastest
eventof the year for the championship.
The circuit holds the record for the closest ever finish to a
grand prix when in 1971 the first four drivers were separated by
just 0.18s. The high speed nature of the circuit tests the engines
and aerodynamic efficiency of the cars while the heavy braking
areas put a lot of pressure on the brakes.
The passionate Italian fans affectionately known as the tiffosi
are second to none in their support, and if an Italian driver was
to win at Monza then expect the fans to be ecstatic.
Formula Two arrives at Monza, the home of the Italian Grand
Prix, for rounds five and six of the 2010 season. Tickets start
