Marrakech - Why Go?
Located near the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech is one of Morocco's largest and most historic cities. It comprises both an old fortified city, the medina, and an adjacent modern city. The walls of the old town run alongside part of the Marrakech City circuit, offering spectacular panoramas of the track. Marrakech also boasts the largest traditional market, or souk, of all Moroccan cities, bustling with activity from acrobats and orators through to dancers and musicians. The souk and medina are located in close proximity to the street circuit, which runs through the Agdal region of the city.

In 2009 the city hosted the country's first international motor race since the 1958 Grand Prix, when the FIA WTCC raced on the newly constructed Marrakech City circuit. This year WTCC will return alongside the FIA Formula Two Championship, which makes its first visit to a street circuit. A special F2 parade through the streets of the city will take place on Thursday 29 April at 5pm local time.

Useful Information
Marrakech has good transport links, primarily through the large Menara International Airport located in the centre of the city. The airport is served by several European flights, in addition to flights from the Arab world. Marrakech also has good train links with several other cities including Rabat and Casablanca, whilst there is a toll-paying motorway connecting the city with Casablanca.
